At a meeting of the Commission on the Protection of the Black Sea
Against Pollution (BSC) in Istanbul (Turkey), Ukraine's Deputy
Environmental Protection Minister Volodymyr Bevza handed over the BSC
Presidency to his Bulgarian counterpart Lubka Kachakova, the Commission
press-service announced.
Ukraine was presiding in the BSC in 2007-2008. For the period, a
range of important documents have been adopted involving the Protocol
for the Protection of the Black Sea Against Pollution from Land-Based
Sources and Activities, the new Black Sea Action Plan, a work has been
carried out to prepare a new reading of the Agreement on the Privileges
and Immunities of the Commission on the Protection of the Black Sea
Against Pollution.
