Leaders of the world’s key states expressed their support to Ukraine on the path to overcoming the consequences of financial crisis. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko stated, opening the Government’s sitting.

“I’d like you to know, Ukraine is respected and Ukraine is supported,” Yulia Tymoshenko stressed.

The Prime Minister noted that during her participation in the Munich Conference last Saturday, she had an opportunity to carry on a number of talks with leaders of the world’s key states, Government portal reported. 

Yulia Tymoshenko said that at the meeting with U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden the steps and reforms, which Ukraine should carry on opposing the global financial crisis and the issue on cooperation of the two states at this hard time, had been discussed. According to the Head of Government, Joseph Biden said that “new power in the USA will support Ukraine in all directions, support the development of democracy in Ukraine”.

The Prime Minister noted that during the meeting with President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso the issues on the gas market operation in Ukraine had been considered. “The European Union supports all the signed contracts, all the steps in the system of providing Ukraine with the gas and transit to Europe,” Yulia Tymoshenko stressed.

As the Prime Minister told, she had an opportunity to talk with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Secretary-General of the Council of the European Union Javier Solana: “from everybody’s lips I’ve had the supporting words for Ukraine and wishing Ukraine the political stability, consolidation of all branches of power and work for Ukraine at this difficult time”. 

Yulia Tymoshenko said that in spite of the fact that Ukraine enlisted the support of its world’s partners, it is necessary to spare no effort itself to develop the state and overcome the global financial crisis.  

“Against the backdrop of political chaos, the Government remains and will remain a core of stability, decision-making center and I believe, we can withstand the crisis step by step but this will require super-hard work,” Yulia Tymoshenko underlined.
