Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko initiates an Action Plan on supporting small agricultural enterprises and proposes to approve it as a Resolution at the nearest Government’s sitting. She told a meeting on the development of agricultural consumer's co-operation.

Yulia Tymoshenko noted that the Action Plan would provide for encouraging the work of village households of output processing, making its delivery to agrarian markets without mediators and second-hand dealers.

Yulia Tymoshenko focused attention on the fact that today only speculators are working at agrarian markets of the country, doubling the price. According to the Prime Minister, “in 2009 all conditions should be created for agriculture’s work and output distribution according to the shortest model, directly to the consumers,” the Prime Minister stressed.

According to Yulia Tymoshenko, the small agrarian households play an important role in providing the country with agricultural output, 36% of villagers have households, after all, arranged on areas from 10 to 50 hundred parts, and 29% - from 50 hundred parts to 2 hectares. According to the Prime Minister, these small households provide the market with cereals by 21%, sugar-beet – by 14.2%, sunflowers – by 19%, potatoes – almost by 100%, vegetables – by 86%, fruits and berries – by 84.5%, meat – by 51%, milk – by 82.2%, eggs – by 43.4%, horned cattle – by 64%.
