Deputies of the Party of
Regions intend to submit the candidature of Oleksandr Lavrynovych, current vice
speaker, for the post of Speaker of the VR.
Oleksandr Yefremov, the
chairman of the regulations committee of the parliament, told journalists.
“We had not held any
consultations before Arseny Yatsenyuk was removed,” he said and added that such
consultations would start immediately.
“We have an excellent candidate
– Oleksandr Lavrynovych…If the parliament supports his candidature, we’d be
glad to see him in office,” Yefremov said.
In response to the question
on procedure details, Yefremov underlined that the voting for the candidate
would depend on the decision of the deputies and on the further situation.
