The Supreme Court of Ukraine has reinstated Victor Medvedchuk as a member of the Supreme Council of Justice.

Ukrayinska Pravda has learnt it from its sources in the judicial power.

“The Supreme Court has cancelled all rulings and orders, which suspended Medvedchuk’s membership in the Supreme Council of Justice”, the source disclosed to Ukrayinska Pravda.

According to him, Supreme Court head Vassyl Onopenko has already announced about the ruling to reinstate Medvedchuk at a session of the Supreme Council of Justice.

V.Medvedchuk was repeatedly elected as a member of the Supreme Council of Justice on the quota of higher educational establishments of law, though he did not appear in parliament to take an oath.

After he refused to take the oath, the Supreme Council of Justice suspended his authorities, and appointed Andriy Boyko, dean of the Lviv University’s faculty of law, on his post.

However, in 2007 the SUJ reinstated V.Medvedchuk, and A.Boyko appealed against this decision.

Finally, the Supreme Court of Ukraine has cancelled all previous decisions, which deprived V.Medvedchuk of his membership in the Supreme Council of Justice, and closed the case.
