Some 79% of Ukrainians believes that the upcoming early parliamentary election will not help overcome the political crisis in the country.

Representatives of Gorshenin’s Institute disclosed this to UNIAN referring to the results of an all-Ukrainian telephone poll “Early Parliamentary Election in Ukraine”.

At the same time, according to the results of the poll, every tenth respondent (some 9.7% of those polled) hopes that the early election will help overcome the political crisis. A half of respondents (some 48.9%) believes that the President of Ukraine will benefit from the early election. A third of respondents (some 30%) do not understand the purpose of the early election.

According to results of the poll, some 61% of those polled have a negative attitude to the fact of the Verkhovna Rada dissolution. An equal number of those polled have a positive or neutral attitude to this fact (respectively some 15.5% and 15.2%).

Some 53.5% of respondents believe it is necessary to carry out an early presidential election simultaneously with the parliamentary election.

The poll was carried out on October 15-18, 2008 in all Oblast centers of Ukraine, Kyiv and Sevastopol. 1000 respondents aged over 18 years were polled. The error margin makes up 3.2%.
