Tymoshenko gives money for election – now Yushchenko has to think how to take them

According to UNIAN, Finance Minister Victor Pinzenyk disclosed this to journalists today in the Cabinet of Ministers.

“The amendments have been just adopted, on Naftohaz Ukrayiny, and on the snap poll”, V.Pynzenyk said.

At the same time, the Minister did not go into any other detail about the planned amount of financing allocated for the electoral campaign. “The amount was already announced in mass media”, he said.

The Finance Minister also informed that the draft law on amendments into the state budget-2008 stipulates providing financial support for Naftohaz Ukrayiny NJSC and the Pension Fund. At the same time, the Minister did not disclose the planned amount of financing.

In line with the Ukrainian legislation, amendments into the state budget, proposed by the government, may be adopted only with the decision of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Earlier the Presidential Secretariat had claimed that the parliament is legally incapable, because it was dissolved with the decree of President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko. During the parliamentary election in 2007, the similar situation occurred. That time the President suspended his own decree on the snap poll for the parliament could introduce amendments to laws.
