The Constitutional Court of Ukraine issued the resolution on Friday, September 19, on the official inquiry of 105 members of parliament.
In particular, the Constitutional Court made conclusion that the wording “coalition of deputies factions in the Verkhovna Rada”, indicated in Article 83 of the Ukrainian Constitution, must be understood as a union formed on results of elections of several factions, the number of national deputies in which makes a majority of the constitutional number of the Verkhovna Rada. The union is based upon the decision of the factions to agree their political positions and to carry out joint parliamentary activities.
“Thus, only lawmakers who are members of parliamentary factions may enter the coalition of parliamentary factions”, reads the decision of the Constitutional Court.
