The government of Ukraine headed by Yulia Tymoshenko has prepared a draft bill “On domestic and foreign policy of Ukraine for the period till 2010,” which does not provide for joining NATO Membership Action Plan.

Ukrainian Medias informed Tuesday that the strategic priority of the document is “further European and EuroAtlantic integration and stage-by-stage approach to standards and legislation of the EU.”

The draft bill does not provide for activation or intensification of cooperation between Ukraine and NATO. The matter concerns only “continuation of practical cooperation with the Alliance, including Ukraine’s participation in peacemaking operations and informing the public about NATO activity.”
