During the conversation sides discussed situation in Georgia.
Both parties affirmed that one of the key principles in conflict settlement should be ensuring Georgia’s territorial integrity.
Condoleezza Rice thanked Victor Yushchenko for active steps of Ukraine aimed at achieving ceasefire and normalization of situation in the conflict zone.
Also sides agreed on urgency of appropriate UN Security Council resolution adoption to stir up conflict settlement process.
Beside that the interlocutors discussed preparation to American-Ukrainian top level meetings within the framework of coming visit of President Yushchenko to New York to take part in UN General Assembly meeting.
