An integrated rescue part arrives in the Ivano-Frankivsk region (Western Ukraine) from Poland to render assistance in mitigation of flood consequences, Emergency Minister Volodymyr Shandra told a briefing in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, Cabinet’s press office reported.

According to the Emergency Ministry, the Polish subdivision includes 78 rescuers, 19 technical units and 25 water pumps for pumping out water. A place of its dislocation is settlement of Zabolotiv, Sniatyn district. The detachment will render assistance to the flood-hit population in the Sniatyn and Kolomya districts.

In late July, the flood occurred in a number of Ukraine's western regions as a result of a sharp rise of the water level in the rivers of the Carpathian basin due to heavy rains. According to the Emergency Ministry, on July 23-28, 40,601 dwelling houses, 33,882 hectares of agricultural lands have been underflooded, bridges and roads have been damaged.
