The President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko has started climbing the highest mountain peak of the Ukrainian Carpathians Hoverla (2061m) in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast.
The climbing started at 9 a.m. from two sides: Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattya oblasts. The head of the state is climbing the mountain from Zakarpattya side.
About thousand people are also climbing the mountain with national flags in their hands. MPs, political leader, Ministers, representations of region city administration and other who is not indifferent to Ukraine are climbing Hoverla.
Viktor Yushchenko also will take part in the opening ceremony and consecration of the sculptural composition "Trident" on the top of the Hoverla Mountain. The national flag of Ukraine will be hoisted and capsules with the land from all regions of Ukraine will be put in.
