The Communist Party of Ukraine should not take part in the showdown between the representatives of big business. CPU leader Petro Symomenko declared in response to the question why the deputies of his faction failed to vote for the resolution on responsibility of the government.

Symonenko noted that the party could have easily voted fro this issue, but having taken a sober view of the situation in Ukraine the party decided not to vote.

“We as a communist party of Ukraine should never take part in the showdown between the representatives of big business,” he underlined.

According to Symonenko, on Friday the communists took the side of the Ukrainian people. “The decision about dismissal of the government must be made under the condition of formation of a new coalition. It should be done to prevent Yushchenko from dismissal of the parliament and usurpation of the power,” Symonenko summed up.

As a reminder, on July 11 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine did not support the resolution on responsibility of the government headed by Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.
