Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the USA to Ukraine William Taylor states that regardless of who becomes next American President, the United States will support Ukraine’s joining the NATO Membership Action Plan at a summit of the Alliance in December. The Ambassador stated in his speech at the International forum “Ukrainian Euro Atlantic future”.
“I’m sure that regardless of who wins the presidential elections in November, the support of Ukraine will be very strong during the consideration of question on Ukraine’s joining MAP,” Taylor said.
He reminded that three presidential candidates expressed support concerning Ukraine’s joining MAP at the Bucharest summit on April 2-4.
As to the cooperation of Ukraine with NATO, Taylor notes that in near future the meeting of representatives of different committees of NATO with representatives of Ukraine is planned.
He also notes that Ukraine must hold discussions with neighboring countries and find out why they are against Ukraine’s membership in NATO. According to the Ambassador, it is necessary for Ukraine to receive such answer.
Taylor also considers that Ukrainian power must discuss with the people, member of which institutions of international safety Ukraine must be. He also notes that it is necessary to solve internal problems of the country, in particular, problem of inflation which “destabilizes the country, causes political and huge economic problems”.
