President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko has opened Energy summit in Kyiv.

Yushchenko proposed four question for discussion: the first – on fulfillment of agreements which were reached at previous summits; the second – national strategy and projects in the sphere of energy security; the third – is the question on Baltic-Black Sea-Caspian energy space formation; the fourth – the policy of EU in the sphere of energy safety.

President Yushchenko informed that three documents are prepared for signing.

Guests of the Energy Security Summit are President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili, President of the Republic of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves, President of the Republic of Latvia Valdis Zatlers, President of the Republic of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus and President of the Republic of Poland Lech Kaczynski, European Commissioner for Energy Andris Piebalgs, Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria Angel Marin, Vice-Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Lyazzat Kiinov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic Ján Kubiš, Ambassador of the USA to the European Union and Special Envoy for Eurasian Energy Clayland Boyden Gray, other officials.
