The National Bank of Ukraine returned official exchange rate UAH 5.05 per USD 1, using the right of veto to the decision of the NBU board, which yesterday had established the official exchange rate UAH 4.85 per USD 1.
Chairman of the NBU Council Petro Poroshenko stated yesterday at a press conference after the sitting of the NBU Council sitting.
Poroshenko said that according to the decision of the Council of the National Bank, in Ukraine from May 22 the official exchange rate is UAH 5.05 per USD 1.
Poroshenko specified that the exchange rate can be changed by the decision of the NBU board within the framework of existing corridor UAH 4.95 -5.25 per USD 1 or the exchange rate can be changed in case the NBU board overcomes right of veto by two thirds of votes.
