President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev have established the Council of President of Ukraine and the Republic of Azerbaijan and signed its Regulations. As the President’s press office reports, the corresponding decision was taken today in Kyiv within the framework of official visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The agreement on formation of the Council of Presidents of Ukraine and the Republic of Azerbaijan was achieved as a result of official visit of the President of Ukraine to Azerbaijan and was fixed in the Joint declaration of September 7, 2006.
Besides, today during the tête-à-tête meeting President Viktor Yushchenko and President Ilham Aliyev have discussed energy, military, humanitarian cooperation between Ukraine and Azerbaijan. Also much attention the two leaders dedicated to Kyiv Energy Summit.
