Direct foreign investments to the Ukrainian economy in the 1Q of 2008 (as against the relevant period last year – 1Q of 2007) quadrupled and amount to 3.4 billion USD.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko claimed today opening a sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers. “We have held a record during 17 years – due to the Program on improvement of the investment climate the investment growth quadrupled in the 1Q,” she stressed. Cabinet's press service reports.
“It means that we follow the right path that we do our best for the economy”.
The Ukrainian PM is also sure that such investment growth is evidence of confidence of foreign investors in the Government’s policy. At the same time, she added that if the Privatization Program is implemented the foreign investment growth can be nearly twenty times more.
