Director General of the World Trade Organization Pascal Lamy has announced that on May 16, 2006 Ukraine will become the full member of the WTO.
As the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Economy reports, Lamy reminded that the protocol on Ukraine’s joining the Marrakesh agreement on WTO formation was signed in Geneva on February 5, 2008. On April 16, 2008 the government of Ukraine approved the Protocol. According to the paragraph 8, the Protocol comes into force from May 16, 2008.
As a reminder, on April 16 President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko signed the Law “On Protocol ratification on joining the World Trade Organization”.
