President of Ukraine notes that today responsible moment has come – the beginning of direct works on preparation for the Football Championship Euro-2012. He stated in Lviv on Tuesday at the declaration signing ceremony on Council formation of cities of Ukraine and Poland, where final matches of Euro-2012 will be held.
Yushchenko has noted that today the planning and organizational part of preparation for Euro-2012 is coming to an end. “Now the responsible moment comes – holding of direct works,” the President said.
The Council’s main objective is to coordinate actions of the cities in Ukraine and Poland, experience sharing, mutual support, communication with UEFA office, etc. The meetings of the Council are to be held twice per year in 2008-2009 and four times annually in 2010-2012 with the first one scheduled to be held in Warsaw in October 2008.
For the period of 2008 the co-chairmen of the Council were elected the mayor of Lviv and the President of Warsaw.
