Kyiv city chairman Leonid Chernovetsky asks President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko to remove him from the post of the chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration for 10 days. It is stated in the letter of Chernovetsky to the President Yushchenko.

Yesterday at the sitting of the government the Prime Minister and the Ministers considered the activity of the Kyiv City State Administration. According to Chernovetsky, at the sitting there were statements against him, which discredited his honor and merits.

In connection with this Chernovetsky addresses the President of Ukraine with the demand to form independent and unprejudiced commission, which will investigate the activity of the capital’s authority.

Chernovetsky asks to remove him from his duties for ten days. For this period of time he will be in the unpaid vacation on own account and on his own will.

As earlier reported, on March 12 the government took a decision to send a submission to the President Viktor Yushchenko concerning the discharge of Chernovetsky from the post of the Kyiv’s mayor, as well as all materials concerning this case.

The government addressed the parliament with the request to consider the question on early election of the mayor of Kyiv and the Kyiv council.

Besides, the Cabinet addressed the Prosecutor’s general with the request to investigate the activity of the Kyiv city authority, and to discharge the acting city mayor, if there are reasons.
