Yesterday Vice Prime Minister for European and International Integration Hryhoriy Nemyrya held a meeting with Chairman of the Sejm Foreign Affairs Committee of the Republic of Poland Krzysztof Lisek, Cabinet press service reported.

The sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, in particular, in the sphere of European integration of Ukraine.

“It is extremely pleasant that after an election pause the interparliamentary dialogue of Ukraine and Poland is stirring up,” Hryhoriy Nemyrya said.

The Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and Chairman of the Sejm Foreign Affairs Committee of the Republic of Poland exchanged opinions about the process of negotiations on preparation for a new enhanced agreement between Ukraine and the EU.

“Ukraine’s priority is achieving agreement of the EU states on fundamental parameters of the new enhanced agreement in relations in the sphere of foreign and security policy and justice and security,” Hryhoriy Nemyrya stressed.

In his turn, Krzysztof Lisek stated that “Poland completely supports the European future of Ukraine”.

During the meeting the matter also concerned the prospects of using Polish experience in the sphere of coordination of the state’s European policy, including an opportunity of its use for Ukraine.

Note: During January-November 2007 commodity turnover between Ukraine and the Republic of Poland increased as compared with the same period of the last year by 31%. Export increased by 22% as against the same period of the last year. Import increased by 36% as against the same period of the last year.
