President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko claims that it will take many years for Ukraine to transfer to the contract army, if it will move in such pace. The Head of the State stated in his speech at the meeting in the Ministry of Defense.
Yushchenko criticized the situation in this sphere. “If the transfer will take place in such paces, as it was in last years, then it will take many years for Ukraine to transfer to the contract army.”
The President is surprised why today every tenth soldier of the contract army is forced to leave the army because of the reduction of the military unit. Wasn’t it clear that this military unit planned to reduce its staff when the person applied for the work?
He also has criticized that every eighth soldier in the contract army discharges because of non-observance of the contract, and every fifteenth – because of the state of the health.
“I hope these problems will not remain in a year or three (when the transfer to the contract army will take place – ed.),” the President said.
