President Viktor Yushchenko met today with NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine head Oleh Dubyna. President's press office reports.
Meeting participants discussed financial issues of the company during 2007 as well as outlined basic strategies for 2008.
President noted that after amendments are introduced to 2008 budget the threat of financial bankruptcy of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine is to be removed.
As for the future Viktor Yushchenko said that it is necessary to prepare a program of company’s development which would ensure Naftogaz of Ukraine financial self-sufficiency as well as to guarantee retaining control over gas-transport system by the state.From his part Oleh Dubyna informed Viktor Yushchenko that commission on inspecting economic activity of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine established by Presidential Decree of January 9 has started its work. Overall Oleh Dubyna evaluated the condition of the company as critically unsatisfactory and handed over to President data on company’s work. He also noted that company faces excessive fiscal burden.
