Foreign Ministry of Ukraine noted that last statements of Russia concerning language policy and provision of rights to national minorities can do harm to dynamic development of Ukrainian-Russian relations. The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine press service informed.
Today Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia Viktor Chernomyrdin is invited to Ukrainian Foreign Ministry to hold meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Volodymyr Ohryzko.
In the scope of the meeting the sides discussed current issues of Ukrainian-Russian relations and schedule of bilateral contacts for near period of time.
Moreover, Chernomyrdin's attention was drawn to tone of last statements of Russia concerning Ukraine’s history, language policy and provision of rights to national minorities which can do harm to dynamic development of Ukrainian-Russian relations.
As a reminder, since December 24, 2007 all foreign films must be duplicated, dubbed or subtitled only in Ukrainian language.
Foreign Ministry of Russia criticized decision of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine on necessity to duplicate or subtitle foreign films including Russian films into Ukrainian language.
According to Foreign Ministry of Russia, such decision on subtitle or duplication of foreign films (including Russian ones) proves unwillingness of Ukrainian power to fulfill international obligations. It violates and discredit rights of national minorities.
