Foreign Minister of Slovenia, that will chair the EU in first half of 2008, Dmitrij Rupel is convinced that relations between Ukraine and the EU will flourish. He said that today in Brussels.
“You have now new PM and I am convinced that our relations will flourish,” he said.
Rupel has noted that he intends to visit Ukraine “for further development of relations between Ukraine and the EU. Rupel has many friends in Ukraine and hopes for good cooperation.
“Ukraine is a neighbour of the EU but maybe we will become closer,” he said.
As a reminder, on March 5 of the current year Ukraine and the EU started negotiation concerning new enhanced agreement that must replace the current agreement on partnership and cooperation which expires in early 2008.
