Chairman of the VRU Arseny Yatsenyuk considers that in the near time it is necessary to discuss reasonability of early elections to local bodies of power. He said that today in Kyiv at the meeting on local authorities.
According to Yatsenyuk, in the near time it is necessary to hold a discussion on reasonability of early election to local authorities, in particular its elections system.
“It is necessary to discuss election system to bodies of local authorities and to give answer, whether we need early elections and how and according to what system they must be held,” he said.
Yatsenyuk criticized current system of election to local authorities. According to him, present system of election is a disproportion.
“Party lists are hardly totally acceptable. Maybe it is necessary to implement open lists, maybe mix system,” Yatsenyuk said.
“It must be local authority but not a club of political elite in this or that council,” he added.
