The Ukrainian Finances Ministry is ready to tackle the issue of early repayment of credits of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, First Vice Prime Minister, Finances Minister Mykola Azarov said, quoted by his spokesman. Government's press office reports.

Chairman of the NBU Council Petro Poroshenko spoke up for early repayment of the credits granted by the IMF and WB.

According to him, the state's gold and currency reserves allow talking about gradual repayment of credits.

According to the Finances Ministry, the aggregate state debt of Ukraine (direct and guaranteed), as of October 31, 2007, stood at 16.356 bn. USD, including direct external debt containing liabilities to the WB to the tune of 2.247 bn. USD and guaranteed external debt, liabilities to the WB to the tune of 0.042 bn. USD and to the IMF in the amount of 0.504 bn. USD.
