The Governments of Ukraine and Poland have signed the Protocol on Amendments to the Treaty on Traveling Procedure of Ukrainian and Polish Citizens, the Foreign Ministry's press-service of Ukraine reported.

The instrument has been signed in view of Poland's entry into the Schengen zone from December 21, 2007 and envisages a number of advantages for Ukrainian citizens when receiving visas in Poland.

Notably, Ukraine's citizens will be able to receive free of charge short-term visas till December 20 to be valid even for the period after December 21, 2007. Those Ukraine's citizens planning to stay in Poland for more than 90 days with the purpose of employment, studying, treatment will receive national Polish visas even after the country enters the Schengen Agreement.
