President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko congratulated fellow countrymen on Freedom Day, the ForUm informs, referring to the president’s press office.
“This holiday is to celebrate the beginning of the Orange Revolution and triumph of freedom, democracy and justice. On this day we celebrate efforts of daughters and sons of Ukraine who worked and fought for Independence of people and human rights,” the President said.
At the same time Viktor Yushchenko noted that the meaning of this day exceeds political bounds, its role is national and significant for all and everybody, for past and future.
“Freedom Day in Ukraine is a day of labour. I am sure it will bring us important achievements,” he said.
Yushchenko has said that there is a real freedom for opinion, position and initiatives in the country. The most important is that the society got right for changes.
According to Yushchenko, Ukrainian democracy is being developed and finds solutions for the most difficult decisions by means of peaceful and civilized way, and the power gradually learns how to be responsible before the people.
“I believe in our success. Ukraine will not leave the way of democracy. The State has many tasks to do, in particular to establish strict, consolidation, effective rules due to which there will be an order in the country,” Yushchenko said.
