The first vice PM of the Russian Federation, chairman of “Gasprom” Dmitriy Medvedev informed that negotiations with Ukraine and three Baltic republics on gas supply up to 2011 are on the final stage.

We are now on the final stage of negotiations with our partners,” he said at the briefing in Moscow. He has reminded that Ukrainian Fuel and Energy Minister is in Russia for last two days.

“We must discuss terms of gas supply not only for next year but up to 2011. And it is the hardest. Everything is not so easy as we desire. We have one opinion, our Ukrainian partners have the other one,” he said.

According to Medvedev, it is necessary to take into consideration predictable perspective – the way how final transformation of Ukrainian economy to the market conditions will be carried out. He reminded that almost all countries were under condition of market trade on market prices.

“I think the final understanding will be reached soon. The matter concerns three-year perspective as everything is quite clear concerning next year,” he said.
