President Viktor Yushchenko urged the appointment of inquiry committee to investigate causes of a blast at the Zasyadko mine. He said that on November 18. He also called for soonest provision of support to victims’ relatives, president's press office reported.
In his letter to Prime Minister V.Yushchenko requested him to prepare the comprehensive plan of response to the disaster’s aftermath and indemnity payment to all victims’ families.
“I call Your attention to insufficient efforts to reorganize the mining sector, particularly the implementation of safe mining practices. Please report to me in person on measures taken in one week term.” – President’s letter said.
President also appointed the head of Donetsk administration Volodymyr Logvynenko to mobilize all necessary resources in order to provide victims’ families with all necessary support. V. Logvynenko shall report to President in person about the implementation of necessary measures in three day term.
