Yushchenko not to participate at presidential elections?

Leader of the European party of Ukraine, member of the “Our Ukraine – People’s Self-Defense” bloc Mykola Katerynchuk is sure that only one candidate form the democratic coalition will participate at the presidential elections. He stated in an interview with the newspaper “Stolichnye novosti”.

Answering the question whether it is possible to speak that 14% of votes for the OU-PSD at the elections is a result which the President Yushchenko will obtain at the presidential elections 2009, Katerynchuk has said that “to speak about the presidential campaign will be possible after the coalition formation”.

“I’m practically sure that there will be only one presidential candidate from the democratic coalition,” he said.

At the same time, according to Katerynchuk, “we see how Yushchenko has changed for this year, how the policy is changing – it has become more exacting, predictable, and it is based on principles”. Katerynchuk thinks that Yushchenko “has two years more to hold judicial and tax reforms, to realize his social initiatives, which he presented in his campaign”. On the whole, he is an efficient politician for today,” Katerynchuk said.
