The Party of Regions has emphasized that in case of further provocation the Party of Regions will take a decision not to participate in the early parliamentary elections. Such decision the Party of regions took at the session of the Presidium of the Political council of the party, during which the question “On participation of the Party of Regions in the early parliamentary elections on September 30, 2007” was discussed. During the session it was noted that for the last days of the election campaign the central governing bodies of the Party of Regions had received a lot of information that the opponents of the Party of Regions were preparing provocations, including open sabotage of district electoral committees, directed at elections results falsifications.
The greatest quantity of such messages were received in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya, Mykolaiv, Odesa and other regions, where the Party of Regions had traditionally many supporters.
The Presidium of the Political Council has decided: to warn President Viktor Yushchenko and political opponents of the Party of Regions that in case of further provocation and strengthening of unlawful preparation for violation of will of Ukrainian citizens the Party of Regions will take a decision not to participate in the early parliamentary elections on September 30, 2007.
