Lila Roldán Vázquezde Moine, Argentina’s new ambassador to Ukraine, Atis Sjanits, Latvia’s new ambassador to Ukraine, and Christer Michelsson, Finland’s new ambassador to Ukraine, presented their credentials to President Viktor Yushchenko on Thursday, President's press office reports.
Yushchenko praised Ukraine’s relations with these countries and said it was important to build even closer bilateral ties.
The President said Ukraine expected the governments and parliaments of the three statesto recognize the Great Famine of 1932-1933 as genocideand added that his country was going to propose a Holodomor resolution at the 63d session of the UN General Assembly in 2008.
Yushchenko thankedArgentinafor helpingits Ukrainian communityand Finland and Latvia for supporting Ukraine’s bid to join the European Union.
