The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has decided to suspend from duties Transport Minister Mykola Rudkovsky and Emergency Situations Minister Nestor Shufrych, President Viktor Yushchenko told reporters on Tuesday.
Yushchenko said both ministers were “personally responsible for serious failures.” “Rudkovsky has failed to take measures to boost railroad security. Shufrych has failed to responsibly react to numerous natural disasters which have occurred recently in many regions of Ukraine,” he said.
