President Viktor Yushchenko has sent his best wishes to all Ukrainians celebrating Flag Day.
“On this festive day, I wish all of us wisdom, patriotism and mutual respect. Let our Flag wave in each home as a guard of Ukraine’s future,” he said.
Yushchenko said the yellow-and-blue flag symbolized freedom and independence, Ukraine’s glory and revival, calling on the nation to “esteem and honor it as our most sacred object.”
