First deputy Foreign Minister Volodymyr Ohryzko noted that Ukraine is striving for visa-free regime with the European Union. “Next step we will make is a simplification of visa regime for Ukrainian citizens and in future perspective non-visa regime with EU countries,” he said yesterday at a briefing in Kyiv.

According to him, it will be next step of visa regime simplification for Ukrainian citizens after effectiveness of agreement on visa regime simplification and readmission between Ukraine and the EU that can be ratified by both sides by the end of 2007.

Moreover, Ohryzko informed that Foreign Ministry started work with Poland and Czech that will join Schengen zone in early 2008 and also with Hungary, Romania and Slovakia on agreements execution that will facilitate visa regime for Ukrainians.
