Foreign Minister of Ukraine Arseny Yatsenyuk considers decision of Russia to suspend its participation in Agreement on conventional armed forces in Europe is not the best one.

“It is not the best decision Russia could make,” Yatsenyuk said.

Yatsenyuk expressed hope that this decision is not the end in the negotiation process. He noted that such decision does not add security to the country.

Answering the question on possible threats in connection with Moscow’s decision, Yatsenyuk said that theoretically Russia can approve any decision concerning redeployment of weapons to Russia-Ukrainian border. Nevertheless we hope Russia will not do so.

As a reminder, Russia suspends agreement on conventional armed forces in Europe. Corresponding decree is signed by Vladimir Putin.

This agreement was concluded in 1990 by 22 countries.
