President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko appointed Yuriy Prodan and Sergiy Parashin deputies secretary of the National Defense and Security Council of Ukraine. The texts of the corresponding decree are published on the President’s official site.
According to the documents, the President dismissed Prodan from the position of adviser, and Parashyn – from the position of President’s representative at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
Prodan was the President’s adviser from November 2006. In different years he took the positions of the head of the National commission on electroenergetic regulation in Ukraine, and the deputy Minister of Fuel and Energy.
Parashyn was the Director General of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant from 1994-1998.
