President Victor Yushchenko on Monday held talks with Azerbaijan’s Ilham Aliyev in Baku.
 
The two leaders spoke about how to extend the Odesa-Brody oil pipeline westwards to Poland’s Plock, praising results of a meeting of a special group to implement agreements reachedduring this year'senergy summitinKrakow, and discussed cooperation within GUAM, President's press office informed.
 
Yushchenko and Aliyev also discussed plans to build Ukraine’s embassy in Baku, unveil a Taras Shevchenko monument in the Azeri capital and allocate offices to open a Ukrainian cultural center in Baku and an Azeri community center in Kyiv.

 Yushchenko also met with Poland’s Lech Kaczynski in Baku.

The two leaders spoke about energy and European issues, especially how to develop Ukraine’s ties with Poland. Yushchenko and Kaczynski agreed to meet in July to discuss preparationsfor the Euro 2012 championship finals.
