Victor Yushchenko of Ukraine, Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, Mikhail Saakashvili of Georgia, Lech Kaczynski of Poland and Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev of Moldova held talks in Baku on Monday, President's press office reported.
Yushchenko said it was very important to develop GUAM’s tieswith Poland. “We cooperate with this country [ Poland ] in the EU and Euro-Atlantic directions. Poland is our key ally in the European Union and an importantexponent of European values,” he said.
The leaders discussed plans to extend the Odesa-Brody oil pipeline to the Polish city of Plock, sign a free trade agreement within GUAM and unify energy transportation procedures.
