The Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych expressed his gratitude to the President of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Jean Lemierre for the approved decision to hold EBRD Annual meeting in Kyiv in May 18-19 of 2008 and confirmed the Government’s of Ukraine readiness for further fruitful cooperation with the Bank. The letter sent to the President reads, Cabinet press office informs.
“Ukraine possesses all necessary conditions for the Annual EBRD Meeting and corresponding experience as Kyiv already hosted this significant event in May of 1998,” Viktor Yanukovych noted and expressed his hopes that holding the Annual Meeting in Ukraine would become a powerful impulse for the development of infrastructure necessary for 2012 European Football Championship.
According to the PM, “such EBRD decision proves that Ukraine is still one of the priorities in the Bank’s activity and keeps a weighty place in realization of its investment projects.”
“A team-work of Ukrainian representatives and the Bank’s specialists will enable realization of important for Ukraine and Europe investment projects which will further facilitate the growth of national economics, rapprochement of states of our region and maintaining of international economic cooperation,” the letter of Head of Ukrainian Government says.
