The President of the PACE Rene van der Linden hopes that Ukraine’s President Yushchenko and PM Yanukovych will be able to make mutual decision on the basis of which early elections will be held. He told today at the press conference. “I hope they will sign agreement at the nearest future,” Rene van der Linden said.
According to him, it is important to reach compromise between two politicians involved in political crisis.
At the same time, Rene van der Linden is convinced it is necessary to compromise on conditions and principals of early elections.
He also opines that retardation of political conflict in Ukraine will not do anybody good as the society is already tired of instability in the country.
Rene van der Linden also noted that he as the PACE President has no intention to support any side. “I believe the help of Venetian committee will be very useful soon,” he said.
The PACE President noted once again that the PACE is ready assist Ukraine in resolution of the political crisis but cant make recommendations concerning elections date.
