The Verkhovna Rada has adopted amendments to the 2007 state budget, having increased the revenue and expenditure parts by almost one billion USD, according to Cabinet press office.

According to First Vice Prime Minister, Finance Minister Mykola Azarov, the amendments increased expenditures for raising salaries to budgetary workers, which would allow to restore remuneration correlation among posts, which was broken during several recent years. Salaries are to raise 1.4fold during the current year.

The budget provides for UAH 201.1 million (USD 40 million) for relevant rise in wages and payments, the pension fund is increased, too.

The amendments also provide funds to the Central Election Commission for creating and initial specification of the state register of voters in the sum of UAH 127.5 million (USD 25.5 million).

In general, according to Mykola Azarov, the budgetary outlays were increased up to UAH 4.8 billion (USD 960 million)

According to the Government, pension and salary rise is based on actual financial estimation and successful economy functioning. That is why the budget deficit won't increase and inflation parameters will stay within the predictive limits (7.5%).
