“Government will do its best to prevent economic destabilization in the country,” Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych assured at the sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers, Cabinet press office reported.

The PM reported that the key task of the Government today to work out antirecessionary measures aiming to stop negative processes which had already been started in the economy of our state and would damage welfare of our citizens. “While celebrating Easter I has convoked the economic bloc of the Government and posed a problem to analyze situation in different spheres,” Viktor Yanukovych said.

According to the Prime Minister, today economic situation is developing just as in 2005. “Only then in 2005 it was not necessary to elaborate antirecessionary measures and restrain such situation, now the Government is working, fulfilling its duties,” Viktor Yanukovych emphasized.

Therefore, the Prime Minister is confident that it is necessary to spare no effort to extenuate negative consequences. In particular, to prevent strikes at enterprises because it is not a way for solving problems of the political crisis.

Viktor Yanukovych told about negative consequences in coal industry concerned with miners’ strikes in the 90s which had not been justified until now. “At the time in Ukraine coal production reached 226 million tons and today – about 80. Let us compare, what had been happened to this field,” the PM stated. Therefore, according to the Prime Minister, “Government will spare no effort to make the country live and function even under such conditions”.
