European Commissioner for External Relations Benita Ferrero-Waldner intends to cooperate tightly with newly approved Foreign Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk. EC spokesperson Emma Udvin told journalists, Cabinet press office reported.

Benita Ferrero-Waldner congratulates the Foreign Minister with stepping into the office and states her hope to meet with him in person in the near future. “We have embarked on talks to reach a new enhanced agreement between Ukraine and the EU and the foreign minister will be a very important partner in this view. It's very important for us to cooperate with such a partner toward support of reformation, stated in the action plan. We are satisfied with an opportunity to resume the cooperation,” Emma Udvin said.

She noted that no terms of the meeting had been adjusted yet between Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Benita Ferrero-Waldner, however, noted a meeting is likely to take place shortly.
