Deputy speaker Mykola Tomenko intends to keep working in the session hall to control activity of the parliamentary majority. Tomenko told journalists in response to the question what are his further actions after BYuT and OU faction decided not to take part in plenary sessions.

“Under such condition it is more important for me to be present in the session hall as one of my duties is to control activity of the parliamentary majority,” Tomenko said.

He reminded that one of his functions in the capacity of deputy speaker, delegated by the opposition, is to control observation of regulations and legal procedures during sessions.

“I must perform this function despite if opposition factions work in the hall or outside,” Tomenko said.

As a reminder, representatives of the united opposition decided to leave the session hall, demanding fulfillment of their 17 requests to overcome the political crisis.
