Victor Yushchenko has met with a delegation of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and its president, Goeran Lennmarker, president's press office reported.

The Ukrainian leader praised the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe for its contribution to European stability and for creating favorable conditions for economic development. He reassured the delegation Ukraine would spare no effort to successfully hold a session of the Parliamentary Assembly in Kyiv in July 2007, describing it as "an important event in the context of Ukraine’s European integration."

They spoke about talks to sign a new cooperation agreement between Ukraine and the European Union. They also discussed energy issues and how to resolve conflicts in the OSCE member states.

Mr. Lennmarker thanked Mr. Yushchenko for his help in preparing the summer session of the assembly in Ukraine. He supported Ukraine’s ambition to integrate into the European Union.

Acting Foreign Minister Volodymyr Ohryzko, First Deputy Head of the Parliamentary Committee on International Relations Oleh Bilorus and Deputy Secretariat Chief of Staff Oleksandr Chalyy attended the meeting.
