Ukraine, as well as other countries delivering energy, should become a part of the European’s Union energy strategy, Victor Yushchenko said Thursday after attending a wreath-laying ceremony to honor veterans of the Afghan War, president's press office reported.

“A special energy strategy, the European Union-Central Asia, will soon be formulated. In this context, and we are stressing the point, Ukraine and other transit countries must not be forgotten,” he said.

The President said he supported Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus’s suggestion that Ukraine, Lithuania and Belarus coordinate their efforts and actions. Although no official talks have been held on the issue yet, political leaders understand that it is necessary to develop this dialogue, he added.
